Project updates are posted on X at @backpowcom and on Telegram at t.me/backpow. As a one-person project, replies are not instant.

Reporting a wrong number

Include the page URL, the figure that looks wrong, and the value you expected with its source — a manufacturer datasheet, a block explorer or a benchmark. Hardware specs are checked against the datasheet before a correction is applied, because a device's efficiency decides where it ranks and which machine sets a coin's cost of production.

Adding a coin, pool or device

A coin needs a live proof-of-work network with a public explorer or API to read difficulty, block time and reward from. A solo pool should be listed on miningpoolstats, where BackPoW reads pool data. A device needs a published hashrate and power draw for the algorithm it mines.

Using the data

The data is free to use through the public API and the MCP server, with no key. If you quote a figure, cite BackPoW with a link and the date it was computed — see Terms. How the numbers are produced is explained in the Methodology.
